Erin and her husband are welcoming their newborn baby girl into the world with holiday card photos. Baby will be properly introduced to their family and friends near and far over the holiday season!
Having a baby at this time of year, around the holiday seasons means you’ll be doing your best wild animal impression and hibernating this winter. I know this for a fact because our first born son came into the world in November. The winter was cold, but we snuggled inside, basking in the warmth of our home and young family. Those days are gone now… Our boys are too busy to sit still long enough for more than a passing snuggle on the way to play with a toy. Seeing Erin, her husband and her 7-day old daughter reminded me of the good ‘ole days!
Holiday Photos
Taking photos for Christmas cards and to mark the birth of her baby, meant that Erin had to put up her tree and holiday decorations at the first sign of the season! The tree was beautifully decorated and their home felt cozy and comfortable – the perfect setting for newborn photos. We were able to take photos right in front of the tree and used some of the decorations to add to the holiday feeling of the images.
Playing with Lights
During a few photos I panned out of the image to put all my focus on their beautiful girl and the lights created a unique background. The lights make glowing circles that reminds me of romantic films that take place in the winter. If only we had snow in the background…
Backgrounds for Newborn Sessions
Newborn photo sessions require very little on the part of the parents and your choice of location should be simple. Comfy, cozy and warm is all we need! I get up close and personal with your baby because I know you want to remember every detail of her little face for years to come. I take photos of her little body swaddled in a cozy blanket and take up-close pictures of her hands and toes. When she’s so little, there’s no need for an intricate background. All we need are a few Christmas lights, an ottoman and a blanket — throw in a cute knitted dress and a Santa outfit to make your photos super-adorable!
Erin and her husband were referred to me by their neighbour Kerry in Brampton. We have done with Kerry and her family many photo sessions together. It’s always nice to meet a new couple and work with a young family. I hope to be seeing more of Erin and her family, they were an absolute pleasure to work with!
