When choosing a photographer for her wedding, Nadia wanted someone that would make her feel comfortable and add to, not take away from, her experience of her Special Day. Nadia is a former co-worker of my wife and was familiar with my work. She had only briefly met me before becoming engaged but once we met to discuss the possibility of shooting her wedding, we realized that our styles instantly clicked. It was a beautifully intimate and picture perfect wedding of two incredible people. The simplicity of the wedding struck me and looking back at these photos gives me an overwhelming feeling of hope and love. I am very honoured that she chose me to document these perfect moments.
Using Pinterest, we created a board to communicate our vision of the photo shoots and what specifically she would like to see on her day. Wedding Days are busy, with little time to relax and explain expectations. Through the visuals on Pinterest, Nadia was able to provide me with visual examples of photos, poses and effects she would like included in their wedding album. The sun was hidden behind clouds all day but during our last hour together, the sun poked it’s way through and allowed us a very special shot!
Nadia’s warm smile is captured throughout the pictures and she was very easy to work with in front of the camera. It is evident that both Nadia and Steve adore each other. Everyone in attendance could see just how much and I made sure to catch on camera every moment of emotion.
This backyard wedding was made complete with an arch that will adorn the couple’s own yard one day. The grounds offered many groves and hiding places for unique photos and the house was an exceptional backdrop on it’s own.
Couples release doves during or after the ceremony to signify any one or combination of the following; purity, peace, fidelity, joy and blessings or in memory of a loved one. Nadia and Steve’s dove release was beautiful and a nice addition to the day. It just so happened to be my first wedding where doves were released so I was prepared for the unexpected. There was no opportunity to retake the photos. Nadia and Steve did a great job ensuring that they did not rush through the event and I was able to take some fantastic photos.
Nadia and Steve’s wedding would not complete without the approval and the witness of their beloved dog, Mattie. Dogs can sometimes have their own agendas when there are so many people around, but not Mattie. She was easy to work with and a joy to have on location!
