A Beautifully Blended Family<\/strong><\/p>\n

During weddings with blended families, it\u2019s especially important to make the kids a part of your celebration. Maybe the kids didn\u2019t choose your new partner, but knowing that they belong to a family unit – whatever that looks like – is important to their confidence and self-acceptance. By including the kids in the ceremony or even letting them dress up like the groomsmen and brides\u2019 maids gives them a sense of importance on your special day. Just like a father or mother gives away their daughter, the kids are giving their parents acceptance and wishing them a new life together.<\/p>\n

As I mentioned in Connie and Oliver\u2019s engagement photo session blog<\/a>, they make the blended family thing look easy! I\u2019m well aware that it may not be easy, but you\u2019d never know it when you see the family together. At least during our photo shoots, the kids were cooperating and listening to directions and receiving praise and love from both parents. It really is a beautiful thing.<\/p>\n

Connie was possibly the most relaxed bride I have ever worked with. Granted, we have known each other for 4 years now, so she knows a thing or two about working with me. When a client continues to come back to me, I find we connect immediately and fall into an easy pattern of working together. She obviously trusts me and my work.<\/p>\n

Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club, Thornton<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located in the Barrie area, Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club is a fantastic wedding venue with great food and service. The outdoor ceremony area is beautifully arranged with a gazebo and landscaping to highlight the colours of the season. As you can see, the course overlooks rolling hills which is especially abundant with colour in the fall.<\/p>\n

You + Me = 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Connie and Oliver added a lovely tribute to their blended family through the use of coloured sand. Using a vase, each person in the family poured a different colour of sand into it. They poured the sand one at a time and the layers created one colourful vase of sand. This ceremony represents the uniqueness of each person in the family and shows that each person contributes to something bigger and more beautiful.<\/p>\n
