Winter Wonderland<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Taking photos at the end of the fall season or in the winter means one thing, cold temperatures. Sure, you may not be able to wear your cute summer dress or even your fall sweater, but a cute hat will make winter photos just as cute. You can pair it with a matching scarf to accentuate your eyes or bring out the hues in your coat. That\u2019s exactly what Carmen and her family did during their winter photo shoot. Her girls look adorable in their fluffy hats and coats!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Winter Sunset<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Sunset photos are popular. Whether it\u2019s the middle of June or the end of November, the sun still sets and paints the sky beautiful hues of pinks, oranges and purples. During Carmen\u2019s photo session, we were able to capture a gorgeous sunset with the whole family. This is a difficult task since sunsets generally last no more than 5 minutes. Getting everyone set and ready for taking a photo within that time frame takes dedication, especially with young kids.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pier in Burlington Waterfront<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Brant Street Pier\u00a0<\/a>in Burlington is a great place to take family photos. For the holidays, the city sets up a winter wonderland display of lights and decorations. The girls loved running in and out of the lights and poking their heads through them! There were many places for us to photograph – on the pier itself, on rocks by the lake and among the holiday lights. The photos have a holiday feel to them and Carmen\u2019s family makes us feel warm despite the cold!<\/span><\/p>\n

Camera Shy or Camera Friendly?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Carmen\u2019s girls are very active, running and playing. On this particular day they may have been a little more active than normal, staying warm and checking out all the lights. One of Carmen\u2019s girls is particularly camera shy while her sister is most definitely not! In these situations it always helps for me to take photos of the child that\u2019s open to the process. I started taking photos of Carmen\u2019s camera friendly daughter and her sister watched me from a distance. Once she decided that I was an okay guy, she opened up to the photo process and smiled for me! I love to see the transformation in kids as they venture into unknown territory. It\u2019s healthy for kids to be hesitant of strangers and I don\u2019t mind waiting for them to be okay with me!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
