In our fast paced lives it\u2019s easy to get caught up with our immediate responsibilities and neglect those around us. Grandparents often face the brunt of this, but we don\u2019t realize until unfortunately it\u2019s too late. Sonya\u2019s fall photos in Brampton highlight why it\u2019s important to take some time out of our busy schedules to make memories with our grandparents. Multi generational family photography is a wonderful way to preserve the moment and have something that each person can cherish.<\/p>\n

Sonya chose Heart Lake Conservation in Brampton due to its versatility for the different age groups. This location featured a lake, boardwalk, woods and open spaces meaning we had plenty of options. This is important when photographing a range of age groups. You want to find something to spark an interest for each person.<\/p>\n

These fall photos in Brampton served a deeper purpose than just pretty photography<\/h4>\n

An important element of family photography is trying to capture every possible combination of people. I started by photographing the three children with their parents and then added in the grandparents so they each had their own version. Even though the eldest of the three children was from a previous marriage, it was important to them to have some inclusive shots. At the same time, I also focused on some set ups involving the eldest son with his dad. I wanted to give him something to signify their strong relationship.<\/p>\n

Photographing early fall photos meant that the weather was still warm enough to not have to worry about layers. The landscapes were still green with a hint of colour, signalling fall was coming.<\/p>\n

I utilized the strong, clean lines of a gorgeous tree I found that had exposed, bare branches in the shape of a V. Being able to find natural props that can add to the depth of the composition is a simple way to add interesting elements to your image. The two younger children wanted to run around so I let them and got some great shots mid jump. The images are clean and simplistic and capture the abundant energy that young children seem to ooze.<\/p>\n

We finished up the photoshoot down by the lake and one of my favourite images was of Sonya\u2019s dad kissing his wife. Sonya\u2019s mum\u2019s facial expression holds so many emotions; flattered, pleased, and content. It was a spontaneous moment that I managed to capture at just the right time.<\/p>\n
