Fall time in Caledon is so picturesque that there is always a surge of interest for wedding photographers for Glen Eagle Golf Club. I always recommend booking as far in advance as you can to lock in your date for time sensitive seasons.
This image is the perfect example of why this location is such a popular venue in the fall. The lake, autumnal coloured trees and endless greenery are the perfect recipe for a great photo.
Due to the sheer size of the property and trying to navigate it in wedding heels, staff at Glen Eagle lent us a golf cart. Initially we were grateful for the transportation but they ended up making a fun accessory in the final image.
The greens, browns and fiery colours of the background popped against the blue sky and reflection of the lake. Once I added my couple, the red retro looking golf cart seemed like the perfect addition to complete the frame.
People often ask me how I decide what to include in the composition of my images. One of the most important things to do is really open your eyes and take time to observe your surroundings. Notice the details outside the box that make interesting patterns or texture. It could be a road or path that serves to draw the viewers eye a particular way. Unusual cloud formations or reflections in surfaces such as here with the lake. All are important elements that add depth and balance to an image rather than a hastily shot photo.
