Pinterest Savvy
Meet Shawn and Scherri-Ann, possibly the most creative couple I have photographed. Their energy and commitment to the process was contagious. Whether it was an outfit change, their Blackberry’s or the Jamaican flag they brought to celebrate their heritage, this couple was prepared!
Pinterest is a useful resource for photography, I use it all the time. I get ideas from other photographers and see what my clients are interested in. I love to be creative and consider photography as an art form. So, it’s important to get (and stay) inspired. Pinterest helps me do that and it helps me share my photos so that hopefully I can inspire others as well.
A Committed Assistant
Not only were Shawn and Scherri-Ann committed to the engagement photo session, but so was my assistant, Erika. In the photos where Shawn and Scherri-Ann are holding up a Jamaican flag and kissing behind it, Erika was behind them the whole time. You can’t see her because she’s positioned perfectly, but she’s there, holding a flash. The light behind the flag gave us the ability to cast Shawn and Scherri-Ann’s shadows through the flag. As always, thank you Erika for being a great help during photo shoots like these!
Greatness at Gairloch Gardens
My favourite place to shoot right now is at Gairloch Gardens. Not only is it a convenient locations for a lot of my clients, but it inspires me with new ideas every time I go. I have photographed at this park a lot and yet, the photos don’t look like they’ve been taken at the same place. The options are endless, the backgrounds abundant and the landscaped gardens are always perfect. It really is the best place around for family photos, engagement and wedding photos. I love it when clients suggest Gairloch Gardens and if they don’t know where to go and live in the Oakville area, I suggest it myself.
Cute Couple
Shawn and Scherri-Ann truly are a cute couple. They have a chemistry that you can feel, even though you’re just a bystander. They worked well together in front of and behind the camera. Sometimes couples feel a little awkward getting snuggly in front of the camera, but not these two! Posing them was easy and they seemed to have fun with their props. Once we took all the shots that the couple planned, it was time to take some more natural images. Pictures of the lovely couple snuggled against a tree or lying in the grass, holding one another. I love the simplicity of these photos. They’re classic and really capture the essence of Shawn and Scherri-Ann – love, respect and loyalty.
My passion and biggest asset is taking the time to make every client comfortable and relaxed before I even pick up the camera. The result? Photos of you that actually look like you at your best! I can prove to you how much you can enjoy having your picture taken. Lifestyle photography is about the experience that happens to be served up along side of some great photos.
