Deciding how much make-up to wear for an engagement photo shoot can be overwhelming. Andrea from Burlington, pulled it off fantastically during her engagement photo shoot at LaSalle Park.
A Chill Photo Shoot
Engagement photo shoots are always fun. The future bride and groom haven’t begun to feel the stress of their big day. They’re still enthralled in the pure joy of their upcoming occasion. That, and they get to spend a quiet afternoon together – snuggling, kissing and holding each other. Not bad, really. Andrea and Denis were especially easy-going and were prepared for the photo shoot with great make-up for her, a change of clothes for both and in the lovely LaSalle Park for the background!
How Much is Too Much Make-up?
Make-up application for photo shoots can be a difficult decision to make. How much is too much? What colours best suit my features and skin colour? Andrea pulled off her make-up brilliantly, which made my job a hundred times easier! Not everyone is a make-up artist though and I understand that. Depending on what my clients want in the final product of their photos, I can spend a lot of time in the editing room, fixing blemishes or minimizing pores. Every client is different and every client wants a different end product. The important thing is that you’re happy with your photos – they’ll be hanging on your walls and in photo books for years to come!
Location: LaSalle Park, Burlington
The lovely scenery at LaSalle Park in Burlington was a pleasure to work with. We travelled throughout the park, from location to location, taking shots. The park has such a range of possible backgrounds to take photos against – from the lake and marina to the forest and landscaped park. There was never a lack of inspiration for me.
Time for Change
Andrea and Denis were able to make a few wardrobe changes as well, which is a nice touch to the photo shoot experience. It gives her and Denis an opportunity to really capture the best pictures of them selves and they won’t regret the little time it took to change. Some of my clients use their engagement photos for their wedding announcement in the newspaper or for save-the-date invites for their guests. Either circumstance might require a formal or a casual outfit, it depends on what you’re looking for. Whatever the case, you are always welcome to bring a change of clothes to my photo shoots. Ultimately, I want you to be happy with your final images and if a red shirt versus a blue one makes you happy, I will wait for you to try on both.
Wedding Day at Terrace on the Green
Just this past summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Andrea and Denis’ wedding at Terrace on the Green in Brampton where Denis work occasionally. I’m lucky to be considered the official photographer at Terrace on the Green and it’s always a pleasure to photograph and work with the staff there – especially Denis!
My passion and biggest asset is taking the time to make every client comfortable and relaxed before I even pick up the camera. The result? Photos of you that actually look like you at your best! I can prove to you how much you can enjoy having your picture taken. Lifestyle photography is about the experience that happens to be served up along side of some great photos.
