Perfectionism is a concept of the past. We’ve all learned the price the of trying to be perfect. Whether it’s through the clothes we wear, our personal body image or the things we do, we’ve learned that perfectionism comes at a high price – our sanity! It is stressful and time consuming to worry about being perfect. We end up frustrated and taking that frustration out on our loved ones or we end up exhausted from trying too hard. It’s time to let the unnecessary stresses in our lives go. Embrace your imperfection. Relish in its glory!
Get Comfortable
The number one concern I receive from the majority of my clients even before the first click of the shutter is, “I hate having my picture taken”. Really, we all do. I haven’t heard a single person say, “I loooove having my picture taken!” Some people tolerate it more than others. Some have the learned the tricks of the trade and know how to pose or smile in a way that best serves their features. However, majority of people I am in contact with just don’t like their photo taken regardless of the light source, camera angles or posing techniques I use.
Besides our insecurities about our looks, there is a lot that can go wrong during a photo shoot. I could snap a photo of you while you’re licking your teeth, thinking you have time to smile before I shoot. You could be in the middle of scolding your daughter when I snap an image. These still shots are frozen in time, to be remembered forever. That, is scary. It’s hard to be comfortable in your photo session if you have all these negative thoughts encircling your head. That’s where I come in…
Getting in Touch with my Clients
Knowing that my clients are thinking one of two things; “I hate having my picture taken” or “I’m worried that he’s going to capture me making a funny face by mistake” means that it is up to me to make my clients feel comfortable during our photo session. I take it upon myself to be lively, fun and most of all to make the photo-taking process fun. By the end of the photo session I guarantee that all my clients feel comfortable and are open to the process. Which means they are smiling freely and giving me plenty of memories to capture. Even my toughest clients have returned to me, telling me that I made them feel especially comfortable during our photo shoot. This makes me extremely proud!
Don’t Keep Me a Secret!
If you know of someone who hates having his/her picture taken, please pass on my contact information. As a family photographer I take pride in capturing memories and in the process, ensuring my clients feel their best during the entirety of the photo-taking process. The best means of advertisement for photographers is through referrals from family and friends — if you trust my work ethic and like the finished product, chances are, so will your family and friends. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know my clients and their loved ones!

My passion and biggest asset is taking the time to make every client comfortable and relaxed before I even pick up the camera. The result? Photos of you that actually look like you at your best! I can prove to you how much you can enjoy having your picture taken. Lifestyle photography is about the experience that happens to be served up along side of some great photos.
