Maggie and Bryan’s vintage style wedding really highlighted the beauty of a small, intimate ceremony and reception. Their special day was held in one location, the charming Ancaster Mill.
The benefit of only using one location for all of your wedding needs is that you have my undivided attention. It allows me to focus all of my time and energy on the couple with no time lost commuting between venues.
I started the day documenting Maggie in the bridal suite at Ancaster Mill. There is a story behind the featured tea cup as it was incorporated into their proposal. To capture the significance, I composed a few simple yet powerful images of the ring and the cup combined.
A timeless vintage style wedding showing that romance is not dead
Maggie and Bryan decided that they would write each other a letter to read before the ceremony. These were hand delivered by the best man and offered an emotionally charged moment as the gravity of what was about to happen kicked in. They didn’t want to see each other in person before the ceremony, but they planned to touch each other.
My journalistic style of photography was perfect for this kind of set up as I shot them from either side of the door. It was a really sweet and humbling moment to document. Maggie’s father was allowed the privilege of seeing his daughter and his face radiated with bittersweet tears of joy.
A hopelessly romantic vintage style wedding
We were blessed with fantastic weather for a spring wedding so I made the most of the exteriors at Ancaster Mill. Most of the shots were taken by the river or in front of the mill. Both backdrops offered a fantastic contrast to Maggie’s white wedding dress and billowing veil.
Their vintage style wedding couldn’t be completed without heading inside and taking advantage of their stunning interiors. The rich, antique, historic wooden paneling on the staircase was perfect as a backdrop. It immediately gave the feeling of being in an old, historic manor house in a faraway place.
It is easy to get carried away with how large your guest count is and focus on multiple lavish locations. Maggie and Bryan executed the perfect vintage style wedding that proved sometimes less is more.
My passion and biggest asset is taking the time to make every client comfortable and relaxed before I even pick up the camera. The result? Photos of you that actually look like you at your best! I can prove to you how much you can enjoy having your picture taken. Lifestyle photography is about the experience that happens to be served up along side of some great photos.
