Third Time’s a Charm
Getting to know clients and seeing their families grow over the years is the best part of my job! I’ve had the pleasure of taking Minnie’s family photos three times now. Seeing their family expand and watching their kids grow has been a highlight of our working relationship. The last time we met, Minnie’s son was just a newborn. Now, he’s a rough and tumble toddler with a great sense of humour. One of my favourite photos of the session is of Minnie’s son playing peek-a-boo with me through the fence.
Thanksgiving Themed Fun
Pumpkins, corn stalks and hay bales, oh my! During the Thanksgiving season, Georgina Pioneer Village is full of natural decorations to celebrate. Between the decorations and the trees changing colour, we had an abundance of background options for our photo session. The Sutton West Railway House was one of our favourite locations within the village. The reds in the house and the caboose on the railway highlighted Minnie’s family beautifully.
Brother for Sale
Mom and Dad brought a whiteboard to our photo session. We were able to write “Brother 4 Sale” on the sign which makes an adorable photo op. The pictures of Minnie’s kids smiling with the sign are great, but the candid photos make me laugh – their daughter is looking disapprovingly at her brother who isn’t sitting still for the photo. It looks as though she really would be okay with someone buying him!
Fur-Babies Welcome!
Minnie’s family isn’t complete without their two dogs. I loved the way the kids interacted with the dogs and the dogs were quite easy to work with, even when we set-up for a group shot of the family. In group shots like this, it isn’t always possible to get the kids to look at the camera, not to mention the dogs. But, we encouraged it as much as possible and I think we did pretty well. We had quite a few options for group photos by the time we were done!
Bells and Whistles
The best part about doing our photo shoot at the Pioneer Village is that there were tonnes of things for the kids to play on or with. Half the battle for a photographer is keeping the kids interested in the process. If I can take photos while the kids are playing, that suits us best. Minnie’s son especially liked the large railway bell and I was able to capture some great images of him playing with it.
My passion and biggest asset is taking the time to make every client comfortable and relaxed before I even pick up the camera. The result? Photos of you that actually look like you at your best! I can prove to you how much you can enjoy having your picture taken. Lifestyle photography is about the experience that happens to be served up along side of some great photos.
