Fall weather was in full gear for this family session. The weather was a little colder than most of my summer shoots but that didn’t stop us from having a lot of fun, as the sun made an appearance at the perfect times to create a mood that’s unlike what I’ve seen in many sessions.
Margaret, the grandmother saw that the children were a little chilly and reluctant to play at ease so she started chasing some of them and playing with them. It was refreshing and wonderful to see family members play together so innocently.
Sometimes it pays off to play in the rain with a family who really wants their pictures taken because once the clouds part and the sun shines down for a little while they play and the mood of the photo suddenly transforms to become so much more than just a simple family portrait. The colors of fall and the love of this family came alive before my lens during the session and it’s safe to say that one of these pictures is going to make its way to the walls of my studio because of how beautifully it turned out. I can’t wait to do another session with this family again soon!
