Fall Family Portrait Session at LaSalle Park & Marina, Burlington, ON

Families that book yearly photo sessions are always wonderful to interact with because they’re quite accustomed to the ins and outs of what takes place. They are often familiar with what’s going to take place on a technical level, but are often reserved at first, as they get to know the photographer taking their pictures. Watching the comfort levels change as they ease into a session is one of the greatest sources of satisfaction because you’re not just capturing memories for a family, you’re helping to create them by making room for their joy to play more.

Family Portrait under the Tree

The  family gets their photos taken yearly and I was lucky to have the opportunity to photograph such a vibrant, growing family! The twins were very active and easing into the photo session quite well. The mother was obviously hesitant with what we were capturing so I took a moment to show her what I was seeing. It was in that moment that I was reminded of why it is that I love this job so much.

Showing the picture of her husband and children playing together brought tears of joy to her eyes and immediately I was grateful for the opportunity to photograph this family and experience the highlighting of why I love my job.
