There’s a chill in the air signaling the final days of fall, before the chill of winter settles in for the next few months. This was the beautiful backdrop the photo session with the Wilson family was set against, as we began our afternoon together. Little Kealy was tapping into every reserve of energy she had, bringing everyone along for the wonderful ride of enjoying the final rays of fading summer sun. Families were spread around the park along the lake, as the clear skies draw wanderers with ease. Hearing a child’s laughter punctuate the otherwise silent space around us added more sunshine to what nature provided us with throughout the shoot.
The blues of both the water and sky, coupled with the surrounding scenery made for a the perfect setting to watch the truth that happiness is only real when shared, unfold before the lens.
The happiness of this shoot started as a gift from a relative, as someone gave the family a gift certificate for a session. Winding our way through the park brought out more and more reasons why a family member would give such a thing, as the Wilson family had so much energy and love for one another, you couldn’t help but walk away feeling grateful for the chance to photograph them. It was one of my favorite fall sessions with the scenery and weather co-operating to capture some beautiful memories for this growing family. I hope for more opportunities to capture the joy and energy the Wilson family has to offer.
